Fraud Prevention via Stripe EFW
When Stripe's Early Fraud Warning system flags a transaction (typically because the card has been reported stolen by the issuing bank), ChargePilot automatically refunds the customer before the chargeback is filed.
$29 per successful prevention — charged only when the refund completes and the chargeback is averted. If prevention fails or doesn't fire, no charge.
Note: EFW only catches the fraud-card category specifically. Other chargeback types (product issues, friendly fraud, processing errors) are handled through our representment engine after they hit.
Stripe EFW Detection
ChargePilot listens to Stripe's Early Fraud Warning webhooks. When the issuer reports a card as stolen on a transaction, we surface the signal immediately so the merchant doesn't take the dispute hit.
Pay Only When It Works
On EFW signals, ChargePilot refunds the customer through the Stripe API before the chargeback timer starts. We charge $29 per event — but only after the refund succeeds and the dispute is averted. Failed prevention attempts cost you nothing.
